Some of the finishes for our wooden creations. Our finishes are rigorously handmade paying attention even to the minor details. The possibility of creating the finish starting from a sample can make each object even more unique and personalized.

Leaf finishings

CLASSIC GOLD (OC)

With a clean appearance, it is made with imitation gold leaf applied to a chalk and bole base. Burnished, slightly worn, and patinated with very light earth pigments.

GLOSSY GOLD (OL)

With a bright appearance, it is made with imitation gold leaf applied to a chalk and bole base, burnished in all its parts.

GOLD ON A BLACK BASE (ON)

With its antique appearance, it is made with imitation gold leaf applied to a base of chalk and black bole, then burnished, worn, and patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

BLEARY GOLD (OV)

With an opaque appearance, it is made with imitation gold leaf applied to a chalk and bole base, not burnished, patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments. It is mainly used in carved bottoms to increase their depth.

HAMMERED GOLD (OM)

With an antique look, it is made with imitation gold leaf applied to a chalk base with a brush tip, then burnished and slightly patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments. Its appearance mimics hammered brass.

ANTIQUE GOLD (OA)

With an antiqued appearance, it is made with imitation gold leaf applied to a chalk and bole base, then burnished, worn, and patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

CLASSIC SILVER (AC)

With a clean appearance, it is made with 1000 silver leaf applied to a chalk and bole base, then burnished, slightly worn, and patinated with very light earth pigments.

ANTIQUE SILVER (AA)

With an antiqued appearance, it is made with 1000 silver leaf applied to a chalk and bole base, burnished, worn, slightly oxidized, and patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

OXIDIZED SILVER (AO)

With a very aged appearance, it is made with 1000 silver leaf applied to a chalk and bole base, burnished, worn, oxidized, and patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

MECCA SILVER (AM)

1000 silver leaf applied on a chalk and bole base, then burnished, worn, oxidized, antiqued, and varnished with mecca (an orange-colored paint made of natural resins) and finally patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments. The mecca blend is different from the “ancient mecca” one and the end result is a less warm and more platinum-leaning color.

ANTIQUE MECCA (MA)

1000 silver leaf applied on a chalk and bole base, burnished, worn, oxidized, antiqued, and painted with mecca, a wonderful orange-colored paint composed of natural resins, and finally patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

COPPER (RM)

With a clean appearance, it is made with copper leaf applied to a chalk and bole base, burnished and patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

OXIDIZED COPPER (RO)

With a very aged appearance, it is made with copper leaf applied to a chalk and bole base, burnished, worn, oxidized, and patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

Pure gold finishings

PURE GOLD LEAF 22KT (OZ-22KT)

The unmistakable pure gold color that gives the object a unique splendor, is made with 22kt gold leaf applied on a chalk and bole base.

PURE GOLD LEAF 24KT (OZ-24KT)

Gold at its highest degree of purity. With an unmistakable pure gold color that gives the object a unique splendor, it is made with 24kt gold leaf – the maximum carat available for gold leaf – applied on a chalk and bole base.

CHAMPAGNE PURE GOLD LEAF (OZ-CH)

With a beautiful warm color tending to pink, which gives the object a unique appearance, it is made with 22 1/2 kt gold leaf applied to a chalk and bole base.

WHITE PURE GOLD LEAF (OZ-BC)

With that beautiful color typical of white gold that’s warmer than silver, it gives the object a unique appearance thanks to the 12kt white gold leaf applied to a chalk and bole base.

Lacquering

ANTIQUE WHITE (LBA)

White lacquering, made with a chalk base preparation, with a white zinc base and natural glues, finally patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

PROVENCE WHITE (LBP)

White lacquer, made with pure zinc white, torch-burned to make it look antique, patinated with natural beeswax.

PICKLED WHITE (LBD)

Pickled white, made with chalk base preparation, partially gilded with gold leaf, heavily antiqued, and patinated with natural waxes.

FRENCH GRAY (LGF)

Gray lacquering, made with a chalk base preparation, with a white zinc base and natural glues mixed with pigments, then aged and patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

BLUE SUGAR PAPER (LCZ)

Sugar paper blue lacquering, made with a chalk base preparation, with a white zinc base and natural glues mixed with pigments, aged and coated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

COBALT BLUE (LBC)

Cobalt blue lacquering, made with a chalk base preparation, with a white zinc base and natural glues mixed with pigments, then aged and patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

FLORENTINE RED (LRF)

Red lacquer, made with a chalk base preparation, with a white zinc base and natural glues mixed with pigments, aged and patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments. Typical Florentine red color called Rosso Fiorentino.

CORAL LACQUER (LCO)

Extremely glossy finish, coral red, painted with sandarac gum.

SHELLAC BLACK (LNG)

Black lacquer, made with a chalk base preparation, with a white zinc base and natural glues mixed with pigments, painted with natural shellac, and finally aged and patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

ANTIQUE BLACK (LNA)

Black lacquer, made with a chalk base and two types of bole, with a white zinc base and natural glues mixed with pigments, aged and patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

BLACK WAX (LNC)

Black lacquer with a matte appearance, made with a chalk base preparation, with a white zinc base and natural glues mixed with pigments, coated with beeswax.

POLYCHROME LACQUERING (LP)

Painted lacquering with various colors, made on a chalk base preparation, with a white zinc base and natural glues mixed with pigments, patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

FAUX MARBLE (FM)

Imitation of marble, Florentine style decoration with natural colors. It is made with various brush strokes, with one or more points or spatulas depending on the type of marble to be imitated. In the photo faux marble “old stain”.

Wood colors

NATURAL OAK (RN)

Solid oak wood, natural beeswax finish. Extremely warm and natural looking.

BRUSHED OAK (RVS)

Solid oak wood, brushed to highlight the grain and finished with natural beeswax. This finish highlights the characteristic natural design of the wood.

NATURAL CHERRY WOOD (CLN)

Finished with the typical cherry wood color, made with a base of natural mordant and oxides, painted with natural shellac and patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

NATURAL WALNUT (NCN)

Finished with the typical walnut color, made with a base of natural mordant and oxides, painted with natural shellac and patinated with natural waxes and earth pigments.

EBANIZED (EB)

With a warm and elegant appearance, the ebonizing process of the wood is obtained by overlapping very fine layers of black shellac that show the grain of the wood underneath.

POPLAR BURL (RP)

Poplar burl in 8/10 thickness applied to the surface of the object with a “Ferrara cut” technique, painted with natural shellac and coated with beeswax.

Faux turtle

FAUX TURTLE – YELLOW (ITO)

Imitation of the tortoiseshell with a golden base made with the application of a semi-glossy transparent paper of medium thickness replicating the shell of the tortoise.

FAUX TURTLE – RED (ITR)

Imitation of the tortoiseshell with a red base made with the application of a semi-glossy transparent paper of medium thickness replicating the shell of the tortoise.
