Inspired by Caravaggio’s masterpiece housed in the Uffizi Galleries, the Medusa Shield is a completely handcrafted work of art.

The wooden base features a precious oxidized silver leaf finish, while the Gorgon’s head is brush-painted and enhanced by a delicate artisanal patina.

Given the complexity of the craftsmanship, we produce a very limited number of these creations each year. If the piece is not immediately available, it can be specially commissioned and will be crafted specifically for you within 120 days of placing the order.

The Uniqueness of Handmade
Each Medusa shield is a unique, unrepeatable piece. Because it is entirely handcrafted — from the application of the silver leaf to the hand-painted face and the final patination — the living materials react in unpredictable ways. The natural oxidation of the silver creates unique spots, shades, and contrasts that make every piece distinct.

These natural variations are not imperfections, but the authentic signature of our artisanal work. For this reason, the details of the piece you receive may differ slightly from the photographs shown on this page.
